What is the ATC Engagements & Service team and why join?
The Engagements & Service (E&S) team owns the ATC Portal, the platform customers, partners, and WWT engineers use to work with WWT's Advanced Technology Center (ATC). The ATC is a $1B ecosystem of 500+ racks, 20,000+ VMs, and 600+ pre-built capabilities across 200+ OEM partners, and it has supported more than 6,000 customer engagements. The portal is how technologists get into it: a learning system where they launch on-demand labs, build skills, evaluate and validate solutions, and connect with ATC experts. Our mission is to continuously develop and improve the ATC Portal while working closely with the ATC engineers who build and run the labs and environments behind it.
This is a Senior-level role on our engineering ladder, with career paths on to Lead, Team Lead, or Solutions Architect.
Joining E&S means your work matters to the business. The ATC is central to how WWT serves its customers and partners, so the portal is highly visible across WWT, and you will hear directly from the engineers and customers who use what you build. You will work across the full stack on a modern JavaScript codebase, partner closely with ATC engineers and business stakeholders, and have real ownership over the areas you build.
Here are some examples of the kind of work the team takes on:
+ Building and evolving the portal experience for launching and working through on-demand labs, learning paths, and hands-on environments.
+ Improving how customers and partners request, schedule, and track ATC engagements such as proofs of concept and lab hosting.
+ Building tooling with ATC engineers that makes it faster to publish, update, and maintain labs and learning content.
+ Improving search and discovery so technologists can quickly find the right lab or capability among hundreds of offerings.
+ Instrumenting the portal and turning usage and engagement data into product decisions for the portal and the ATC.
+ Applying AI and LLM-based capabilities to the portal, such as in-lab assistants, content summarization, and semantic search.
+ Strengthening the platform underneath the portal - CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and performance - so releases are frequent and low-risk.
