Overview:
The Sourcing Analyst III partners with Sourcing Office leaders, negotiators, business owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to solve highly complex and potentially ambiguous business problems that materially affect multiple divisions, firm strategy, or long-term supplier decisions. The role independently designs and leads iterative financial, supplier, market, and operational analyses; converts complex and evolving information into clear recommendations; and influences strategic direction through executive-ready insights. The analyst leads financial analysis and decision support for key sourcing initiatives, supports negotiation strategy and project performance, and strengthens the organization's analytics, benchmarking, market-intelligence, reporting, and process capabilities.
What you'll do:
+ Lead advanced financial analysis for strategic sourcing initiatives and support negotiation strategy, key commercial terms, project performance, and executive decision-making.
+ Build and interpret complex and flexible total cost of ownership, pricing comparison, scenario and sensitivity, historical usage, future projection, and other economic models involving multiple interdependent variables and viewpoints.
+ Consult with business owners to identify emerging dimensions of ambiguous problems, apply root-cause and systems thinking, pressure-test assumptions, resolve data-quality issues, and independently determine the appropriate analytical approach.
+ Design and drive iterative analyses that adapt to evolving circumstances and translate findings into a cohesive business story with key takeaways, trade-offs, risks, actionable insights, and a preferred solution.
+ Provide proactive analysis and original insights that inform short- and long-term sourcing strategy, supplier decisions, and firm direction on high-complexity, cross-divisional initiatives.
+ Use benchmarking, market intelligence, competitive insights, supplier information, and industry research to strengthen negotiation strategies and support faster, better-informed outcomes.
+ Partner with negotiators and business areas to develop proactive sourcing plans, identify potential RFP candidates, and surface areas of spend that may create future strategic or commercial opportunities.
+ Partner as appropriate with Software Compliance, Third Party Risk Management, Supplier Performance Management, Finance, Digital, Legal, and other subject-matter experts to balance economic value, business requirements, risk, and execution feasibility.
+ Develop, manage, and use relationships with cross-functional business owners and senior and executive leaders to gain alignment, influence decisions, and drive next steps.
+ Participate in and frequently lead cross-functional teams supporting cross-divisional or firm-wide objectives; independently organize, plan, and prioritize work required for successful delivery.
+ Proactively identify strategic opportunities with moderate to broad impact and visibility, propose solutions, influence commitment, and drive implementation.
+ Own or guide the design and enhancement of sourcing metrics, analyses, dashboards, data structures, visualizations, and standardized tools that improve consistency, sustainability, insight, and agility.
+ Promote analytical, reporting, and visualization best practices; review complex analysis and provide guidance, knowledge sharing, mentoring, or training to associates and project teams.
+ Manage assigned vendor financial analysis requests and support timely, accurate reporting, documentation, and data quality.
What you'll need:
+ 7+ years of relevant analyst experience.
+ Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, data science, analytics, or a related discipline is preferred; relevant work experience may be considered.
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, conditional formatting, charting, and executive-ready presentations.
+ Advanced analytical skills, including forecasting and complex financial modeling with multiple variables, drivers, scenarios, and decision alternatives.
+ Consistent ability to structure unstructured problems or data and convert them into flexible models, actionable insights, and strategic recommendations.
+ Ability to complete total cost of ownership, return on investment, pricing, sensitivity, and other financial impact analyses with minimal direction or review.
+ Strong business acumen and understanding of firm results, key business drivers, strategies, priorities, accounting processes, and financial statements.
+ Strong ability to learn rapidly, adapt, and deliver results in ambiguous situations where there may be limited precedent and requirements may evolve.
+ Ability to summarize complex financial, supplier, and operational information and influence associates and leaders through executive-level verbal, written, analytical, and presentation skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions, gain alignment among senior and executive stakeholders, and lead work without direct authority.
+ Advanced project-management capability, including independently sequencing complex tasks, dependencies, decisions, and stakeholder interactions.

+ Experience collaborating with sourcing teams and contract negotiators is preferred.
+ Advanced degree or professional certification is beneficial.
+ Knowledge or experience with PeopleSoft and Tableau is beneficial; experience with negotiation strategy, negotiation, purchasing, corporate strategy, or industry research is beneficial.
