Manufacturing and cost accounting experience is highly preferred but not required. Qualified candidates should have 5+ years of accounting experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and a desire to continue developing their leadership skills. The position is fully onsite and offers flexibility when life events arise.

The role offers a competitive salary of $90,000-$100,000+, along with a bonus opportunity, profit sharing, a 5% 401(k) match, and medical benefits with the company covering 90% of the employee premium. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays and 15 days of PTO. Job Description

This Senior Accountant position offers the opportunity to take on significant responsibility while building toward a future leadership role. Acting as a key resource within the accounting team, this individual will partner closely with accounting leadership, help drive month-end and year-end close activities, and contribute to financial reporting, operational analysis, and process improvement initiatives. The role is well suited for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, supporting business decisions, and developing their leadership capabilities within a growing organization.

Responsibilities

+ Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring financial information is completed accurately and within established deadlines.

+ Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain the integrity of financial records.

+ Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and communicate meaningful insights to management.

+ Assist with consolidated financial reporting and multi-entity accounting activities, including intercompany transactions.

+ Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts while investigating and resolving discrepancies.

+ Support cost accounting processes through variance analysis and collaboration with operational teams.

+ Assist with inventory accounting, including inventory valuation analysis and monthly reconciliations.

+ Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

+ Develop financial models and reporting tools that support strategic and operational decision-making.

+ Prepare reports and analysis related to cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management.

+ Serve as a key contact during external audits by preparing requested schedules and supporting documentation.

+ Assist with tax-related accounting activities, fixed asset accounting, and year-end reporting requirements.

+ Support the development and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

+ Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company accounting guidelines.

+ Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff while reviewing work for accuracy and completeness.

+ Support ERP system enhancements, process improvements, and accounting-related technology initiatives.

+ Collaborate with departments across the organization to provide financial support and business analysis.

+ Contribute to special projects, system implementations, and initiatives focused on improving efficiency and scalability.

+ Act as a trusted financial partner by proactively identifying issues, recommending solutions, and driving results.

Required Qualifications

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting practices.

+ Experience leading or heavily contributing to the month-end close process.

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced or multi-entity environment.

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial analysis and reporting.

+ Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

+ Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.

+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

+ Excellent attention to detail while maintaining a broader business perspective.

+ Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

+ Demonstrated experience improving processes and implementing efficiencies.

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Manufacturing and/or cost accounting experience.

+ Experience working within an ERP system environment.

+ CPA designation or progress toward obtaining a CPA.

+ Combination of public accounting and/or private industry experience.

+ Experience mentoring, training, or reviewing the work of junior accounting professionals.

+ Background supporting financial reporting in a multi-entity organization.

+ Desire to continue growing into increased leadership responsibilities.

+ Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and other business units.

This is a Permanent position based out of Grandview, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Full scale of client benefits: Client % of medical insurance premium for employees. Cover a lower % for family options, but the employee is still paid 90%. 401k - match the first 5% is not subject to vesting 10 holidays 15 PTO days, and start with a bank of 5.
