Job Description

This hybrid Service Desk Technician role provides first-level technical support to internal customers by phone and email, focusing on remote troubleshooting, account and access issues, and basic desktop inquiries. You will diagnose and resolve technical problems, escalate complex issues appropriately, and ensure accurate documentation in the call management system while contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities

+ Serve as the first point of contact for internal customers seeking technical assistance via phone and email.

+ Perform remote troubleshooting using diagnostic techniques and targeted questions for issues such as password resets, account problems, basic desktop inquiries, and equipment requests.

+ Determine the most effective solution based on the issue details provided by internal customers.

+ Guide internal customers step-by-step through the problem-solving process in a clear and patient manner.

+ Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the appropriate next level of support in a timely manner.

+ Provide accurate, up-to-date information on IT products, services, and standard procedures.

+ Record all events, issues, and resolutions thoroughly in the call management system.

+ Follow up with internal customers to update them on ticket status, confirm resolution, and maintain accurate information.

+ Collect and relay customer feedback and suggestions, and propose potential improvements to support procedures and processes.

+ Demonstrate initiative in accomplishing goals and meeting service level expectations.

+ Collaborate with team members to consistently create and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.

+ Work weekends and additional hours, including over 40 hours when needed, to meet business and support demands.

+ Interact with employees at all levels in a courteous, professional manner at all times.

Essential Skills

+ At least two years of experience in a service desk or help desk environment.

+ Experience providing remote support to end users.

+ Good understanding of computer systems and common technology products.

+ Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues, including password resets, account issues, and basic desktop inquiries.

+ Strong troubleshooting skills in a help desk or service desk setting.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Ability to interact professionally and courteously with employees at all levels.

+ Ability to work weekends as part of the support schedule.

+ Willingness and commitment to work over 40 hours when required to meet business needs.

+ Demonstrated initiative in accomplishing goals and handling responsibilities with minimal supervision.

+ Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change in a dynamic technical environment.

+ Consistent focus on creating a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in St. Louis, Missouri, within a professional office and remote work setting in the United States. You will work with standard computer systems, IT service tools, and a call management or ticketing system to support internal customers. The schedule requires flexibility to work weekends and to commit to more than 40 hours when business needs demand additional coverage. The environment is team-oriented and fast-paced, with frequent interaction across different levels of the organization and a strong emphasis on courteous, professional communication.

This is a Contract position based out of St. Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
