As a Real Estate Tax Senior Manager, you will lead the design and execution of scalable, technology‑enabled compliance and reporting processes that align with evolving tax regulations and organizational strategy. You will manage end‑to‑end delivery of tax provisions, direct and indirect returns, and reform calculations, while promoting governance, risk, and compliance frameworks that drive efficiency and transparency. Key responsibilities include:

+ Managing and implementing compliance strategies

+ Optimizing standardized processes and leading technology

+ Championing operating models aligned with governing tax regulations

Your key responsibilities

You will own complex engagements from planning through closure, ensuring quality and risk management while navigating operational dynamics. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, oversee engagement economics, and develop resource plans and budgets. Regular travel may be required based on client needs.

+ Identifies sales opportunities and collaborates on RFP submissions

+ Analyzing an evolving portfolio of increasingly complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights.

+ Learning and researching current market trends to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor.

+ Demonstrating your deep knowledge of the real estate, hospitality and construction industry.

+ Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients' tax activities.

+ Researching our clients' business operations to tailor your advice to their specific needs.

To qualify for the role, you must have

+ Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.

+ Typically, 5-7 years of real estate tax experience, within a professional services environment

+ CPA certification or be a member of a state bar

+ Extensive knowledge in a broad range of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REITs taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring.

+ Experience managing budgets, people and projects.

+ Business development within the market.

+ Technical writing and research experience in a tax context

+ The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.

+ Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes.

+ Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment

Ideally, you'll also have

+ Master's degree preferred

+ Experience leading multi‑geography teams

+ Experience optimizing engagement economics

+ Familiarity with tax technology ecosystems

+ We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $147,400 to $336,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $177,000 to $382,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.

+ Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.

+ Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
