Responsibilities

- Maintain and perform basic repairs to automobiles, trucks, tractors, loaders, motor graders, and other heavy equipment.
- Inspect, service, repair, and overhaul transmissions, engines, clutches, drivelines, differentials, front and rear axle assemblies and ignition systems; repair and install hydraulic controls; tune motors using standard testing equipment; dismantle, repair, and reassemble air compressors, hydraulic jacks, pumps, cylinders, and related equipment.
- Inspect, repair, overhaul, and assemble automotive components such as alternators, distributors, and starters.
- Complete mandated fleet inspections and ensure all equipment meets OSHA standards and all repairs and modifications are done in accordance with operational specifications and safety standards.
- May weld and modify equipment and fabricate parts.
