Summary
Responsible for direct sourcing and procurement of raw materials, components, supplies and services within a manufacturing environment. While working closely with internal departments including production planning, finance and logistics to ensure product sourcing, on-time deliveries and resolution of variances and supplier issues.

Responsibilities
- Strategic sourcing, purchasing and maintaining of raw materials and stock items
- Overseeing special projects including government contracts as assigned
- Collaborate with internal departments including production, finance and logistics to ensure on-time delivery and project deadlines
- Support the development of long-term relationships with company approved vendors
- Participate in supplier negotiations and contract review
- Analyze supplier lead times, minimum order quantities and make recommendations for cost efficiencies
- Generate purchasing orders and update supplier pricing
- Participate in supplier scorecard evaluations, feedback and corrective action conversations
- Other duties as assigned

Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree or Certification preferred, preferably in business, supply chain management, or related field
- 2 years relative experience in procurement/purchasing within a manufacturing environment required, 2-5 years preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics 365, specifically Business Central a plus)
- Strong ability to communicate and negotiate with vendors and across departments
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and grow within the purchasing function
- Familiarity with inventory management systems
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability
