Event Setup Crew Leader / Driver
Summary
This is not a traditional delivery-driver position.
Our Crew Leaders are responsible for leading a delivery and setup crew from the time the truck leaves our St. Charles facility until the route is complete.
You'll drive a company vehicle, lead your crew, communicate with customers and make sure bounce houses, water slides, obstacle courses and other event equipment are delivered, installed and picked up safely, correctly and on schedule.
We're looking for people who can work hard themselves while also leading others.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead Your Crew
- Lead and work alongside Event Setup Crew Members.
- Assign tasks during loading, setup and teardown.
- Keep your crew productive and working safely.
- Train newer crew members on proper setup and equipment-handling procedures.
- Maintain a professional and positive work environment.
- Communicate problems or delays to management.
Drive & Manage Your Route
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles.
- Follow assigned delivery and pickup routes.
- Review the day's orders and equipment before leaving the facility.
- Make sure required equipment is loaded before departure.
- Keep deliveries and pickups on schedule.
- Navigate safely to residential, commercial, park and event locations.
- Perform basic pre-trip/post-trip vehicle checks and report problems.
Set Up Events
You aren't just supervising—you'll be working alongside your crew.
That includes:
- Loading and unloading rental equipment.
- Moving inflatable units using dollies and team-lifting procedures.
- Unrolling and positioning inflatables.
- Setting blowers and electrical connections.
- Properly anchoring equipment using stakes, straps, sandbags or other approved methods.
- Setting up tables, chairs, games and other rental equipment.
- Assisting with larger festivals, corporate events and specialty equipment.
- Inspecting setups before leaving the site.
Handle Teardown & Pickup
- Verify equipment being picked up.
- Safely deflate and break down inflatables.
- Make sure inflatables are rolled and secured correctly.
- Load equipment efficiently and safely.
- Check the customer site before departure.
- Account for equipment returning to the facility.
- Report missing, damaged or unusually dirty equipment.
Represent the Company
The Crew Leader is often the primary company representative the customer meets.
You'll be expected to:
- Greet customers professionally.
- Confirm setup locations and instructions.
- Communicate important operating and safety information.
- Handle routine customer questions.
- Protect customers' lawns, homes and property during setup.
- Remain professional when schedules change or problems occur.
- Contact management when an issue requires additional assistance.
THIS IS A WORKING LEADERSHIP POSITION
Crew Leaders should expect to perform the same physical work as their crew.
You should be comfortable:
- Working outdoors during Missouri summers and changing weather conditions.
- Repeatedly lifting and carrying 50+ pounds individually.
- Pushing and pulling heavy equipment.
- Helping maneuver inflatable units weighing several hundred pounds using dollies and team lifting.
- Bending, kneeling, walking and staying active throughout your shift.
- Working efficiently during busy delivery and pickup periods.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work but also wants responsibility and leadership experience.
Experience Requirements

Experience in delivery, moving, landscaping, construction, warehouse operations, event setup, equipment rental or team leadership is helpful.
Party-rental experience is not required. We can teach the equipment and setup procedures to the right candidate.
