DOJ Accredited Rep/Pro Se Legal Services Coordinator
Summary
Migrant & Immigrant Community Action (dba MICA) seeks a (2) DOJ Accredited Rep/Pro Se Legal Services Coordinators at 2650 Cherokee St., Saint Louis, MO 63118.
Provide immigration legal services and representation to clients under attorney supervision or DOJ-accredited authority, as applicable. Conduct client intake screenings, interviews, and follow-up appointments; prepare and assemble immigration filings, applications, and supporting documentation; and liaise with government agencies regarding case status. Coordinate and manage assigned caseloads, including client tracking and record maintenance; supervise volunteers and interns; and work closely with attorneys and staff to support service delivery. Participate in community outreach, workshops, and group processing events. Maintain grant reporting data; prepare reports to program funders; attend immigration trainings and professional meetings; provide document translation and interpretation as needed; ensure strict client confidentiality; and perform related duties as assigned.
High school/GED or foreign equivalent (evaluated)
12 months of experience providing immigration legal services, legal assistance, or comparable client services in a nonprofit, legal services, or community-based organization.
Driver's license or ability to obtain one within 2 weeks of hire. Ability to apply for Department of Justice accreditation within six (6) months of hire (subject to character and fitness
requirements).
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking).
Background check completed as part of hiring process.
Typically 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; flexible business hours, with some evenings and weekends as assigned
Travel to client sites within Southern and Central Illinois one to two times per month; primary worksite remains St Louis, MO.
