Responsibilities

- Perform, and supervise the performance of, basic and advanced legal functions including answering and processing open records requests, research and drafting, memos and letters in various legal issues in this area.
- Maintain interdisciplinary communications with other departments, reviewing and compiling documents, stressing responsiveness to requesting parties, and other duties as assigned.
- Participate in the day-to-day responsibilities of the General Counsel's Office, including its representation of the Commission in litigation, support to the technical Staff, responses to public inquiries, rulemaking and legislative activities and supervision of a broad range of legal and regulatory activities under the direction of the General Counsel.
- Work cooperatively with the General Counsel in managing the General Counsel's Office, making and implementing future planning, and developing strategies and policies.
- Provide sound legal analysis and well-drafted documents under sometimes demanding deadlines.
- Position may require some in-state travel.
