Knowledge Engineering Industry Leader Solution Architect - Insurance, CMT, or Retail
Summary
We Are:
Accenture is recognized as a global leader in AI and cloud transformation, helping businesses across industries reimagine the digital core for an AI-native operating model. Through partnerships with frontier AI labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI, and the leading cloud providers, Accenture delivers end-to-end services that drive innovation and business agility.
The Digital Core Reinvention practice builds industry super-ontologies: industry- and ecosystem-specific agentic AI and data engines that encode how a vertical actually operates - its entities, its regulations, its rhythms - so AI systems can reason inside the industry rather than about it.
You Are:
A rare double profile: deep industry fluency in at least one of insurance, communications & media, or retail, married to real knowledge-engineering craft.
You've sat with the chief underwriting officer and the ontologist and translated between them.
This is the senior technical track at Accenture: we hire people here who would rather own a methodology than carry a number.
The Work:
As an Associate Director in this family you are the technical owner of the industry digital-brain discipline in your vertical. Concretely, that means three things at once:
You own the methodology.
+ Industry discovery and baseline, super-ontology design and build, lifecycle management as regulation and markets shift - yours to defend and evolve.
You own the asset portfolio.
+ The industry ontology itself, the vertical agent patterns, the regulatory hooks - assets that compound engagement over engagement.
You own the technical point of view.
+ You are the named industry voice - analyst conversations, industry councils, the public argument for encoded industry knowledge as competitive moat.
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
Here's what you need
+ Minimum of 12 years in your industry, with at least 3 years translating domain knowledge into data products, ontologies, or AI use cases.
+ Minimum of 5 years working alongside industry clients at the executive level (CTO / CDO / chief underwriting / chief merchandising, per vertical).
+ Working fluency with knowledge graphs, taxonomies, and retrieval-augmented generation
+ Minimum of 2 years of publishing or speaking publicly on AI in your industry.
+ Minimum of 3 years owning a productized offering, platform, or methodology - not just consulting within one.
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience).
Professional Skills Required:
+ Demonstrated ability to walk into a client executive's office and earn the room on technical depth alone.
+ A clear, defensible point of view on the current AI frontier - what's real, what's hype, what matters in 18 months - that you can articulate publicly.
Bonus Points if You Have:
+ A regulatory-change war story you can tell with dates.
+ Experience shipping an industry data or knowledge product that outlived its first engagement.
+ Ecosystem-partnership experience (platforms, data providers, industry bodies).
+ Comfort being outranked on pipeline conversations and outvoting on technical ones.
+ A track record of editing methodology the way engineers edit code.
+ Frontier-partner relationships (Anthropic, OpenAI, hyperscaler AI orgs, or equivalent).
