Description We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support accounts receivable efforts for a long-term contract opportunity in Earth City, Missouri. This position focuses on managing both commercial and consumer collection activity, maintaining positive customer relationships, and helping reduce outstanding balances through consistent follow-up. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of collection practices, billing coordination, and credit-related processes while working accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Contact commercial and consumer customers regarding past-due accounts and drive timely resolution of outstanding balances.

- Review account status, payment history, and billing details to identify collection priorities and recommend appropriate next steps.

- Work with customers to address invoice questions, clarify payment expectations, and support dispute resolution when needed.

- Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity, customer communications, and payment commitments within internal records.

- Coordinate with billing, customer service, and credit-related teams to resolve account issues that may delay payment.

- Monitor aging reports and follow established collection procedures to improve cash flow and reduce delinquency.

- Escalate high-risk or severely overdue accounts in accordance with company guidelines and account management practices. Requirements - Experience handling collections for commercial and/or consumer accounts.

- Working knowledge of credit and collections procedures, including account follow-up and delinquency management.

- Familiarity with billing collection activities and resolving invoice-related concerns.

- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers by phone and email.

- Strong attention to detail with accurate recordkeeping and documentation skills.

- Comfortable prioritizing a high volume of accounts in a deadline-driven setting.

- Proficiency with standard business systems and spreadsheets used to track account activity.
