The Learning & Performance Consultant partners with business leaders to identify performance needs and design innovative learning solutions that drive measurable business results. This role leads the strategy, design, and execution of learner-centered development programs that build new capabilities, accelerate behavior change, and support the firm's strategic priorities.

Working across cross-functional teams, the consultant applies learning science, adult learning principles, research, and data-driven insights to create high-impact learning experiences for more than 50,000 associates and branch team members. Success in this role requires strong consulting, influencing, and relationship-building skills, along with a passion for developing talent and improving organizational performance.

What You'll Do:

+ Establish trusted partnerships as a consultant to business leaders throughout the organization, employing diplomacy, objectivity, and learning sciences to create targeted learning interventions by translating business outcomes and strategy into performance outcomes, moments that matter applications, and learning objectives.

+ Informally lead the strategy, design, and execution of learning and performance initiatives (including creation of high-performance learning journeys) as a member of a cross-functional team, facilitating a learner-centered creative design process, conducting learner research, co-creating with end-users, prototyping learning experiences that achieve performance outcomes, and ensuring first-time quality at speed and scale.

+ Apply learner experience research, insights, adult learning principles, processes, technology, techniques, and measures to recommend, implement, and support the creation and optimization of learning experiences to achieve business outcomes.

+ Partner with insights and analysis teams across the firm to design research projects, test & learns, learning measurement plans, KPIs, and feedback loops to determine identify learning and performance opportunities, formulate and validate recommendations, monitor performance, evaluate impact, and predict future needs.

+ Partner with internal stakeholders and established vendors to curate and incorporate appropriate resources into learning and performance initiatives.

+ Serve as a mentor to design teammates at a variety of levels, using modeling, feedback, and coaching techniques within project work to ensure quality outcomes and support internal talent development.

+ Stay current on research and practices in Learning & Development and related fields, experimenting with new applications and processes to optimize learning experiences, accelerate business outcomes, support the development of teammates, and build Enterprise Learning capabilities

Required Qualifications

+ Master's degree in Education, Organizational Psychology, Human Capital Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience

+ 5+ years of experience in corporate learning, performance consulting, instructional design, or a related field

+ Expertise in learning sciences, instructional design, assessment, and modern learning methodologies

+ Experience leading end-to-end learning and performance initiatives from strategy through implementation

+ Experience facilitating Design Thinking workshops and/or conducting user experience research

+ Experience identifying and implementing learning solutions that support business objectives and performance improvement

+ Experience designing and developing learning journeys, programs, or curricula

+ Experience applying systems thinking, root cause analysis, and performance improvement methodologies

+ Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders in a matrixed environment

+ Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional teams

+ Brinkerhoff Architect Certification required within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

+ Knowledge of the financial services industry

+ IBM Design Thinking Practitioner Badge or similar certification

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
