Job Summary and Qualifications

What You Will Do in This Role:

+ Greeting and guiding patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, offering updates, and ensuring they feel informed and supported

+ Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information

+ Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected

+ Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort

+ Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork

+ The unit secretary is responsible and accountable for the daily clerical operations of the nursing unit, performs receptionist duties and maintains supplies/equipment for the unit.

+ The unit secretary participates in a positive patient experience including supporting RNs in the delivery of patient care items and providing meal companionship to patients.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

+ American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required upon hire.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills and computer skills are required.

+ Public contact and clerical experience preferred.

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple functions preferred.

+ Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

+ Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and multi-line phone preferred.
