Environmental Services & Kitchen Assistant
Summary
Position Type: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)
Schedule: Varies including some weekends and evenings (Shift windows adjusted for mealtimes and deep cleaning)
Job Summary
The Environmental Services (EVS) & Kitchen Assistant is responsible for overall facility cleanliness and basic meal service support. On live cooking days, this role handles dishwashing, trash removal, and dining area sanitation. On non-cooking days, this role heats pre-batched meal trays prepared by the Lead Cook and executes deep cleaning across living and dining areas including the staff bathroom, entryway and hallway.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain high cleanliness standards across the kitchen, dining room, living areas, and restrooms. Execute daily, weekly and monthly deep-cleaning checklists.
· Operate dish station during and after meal services; dispose of kitchen trash and recyclables promptly.
· Transfer pre-portioned, labeled meal trays from refrigeration into warmers or ovens according to heating instructions; serve meals to residents on schedule.
· Assist the Lead Cook with staging trays, filling beverage dispensers, and clearing dining tables during peak service hours.
Experience Requirements
Qualifications
· Experience in facility sanitation, environmental services, or kitchen utility/dishwashing.
· Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow basic food reheating and safety protocols.
· Strong work ethic with the ability to manage time between cleaning duties and scheduled service times.
