This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes the ability to work from home, while also requiring to be in person as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.

Technology powers nearly every aspect of how we do business. Understanding, evaluating, and prioritizing technology investments is therefore critical to advancing our business and technology strategies. The Portfolio Management Office is evolving to become an increasingly trusted strategic partner, bringing greater visibility, alignment, and discipline to how technology investments are prioritized and delivered. We are looking for a strong leader who can help advance this transformation, strengthen portfolio and project management practices, and connect investment decisions to strategic priorities and measurable outcomes.

The Global Portfolio Management Office has an exciting opportunity for an IT Senior Manager supporting our Core Business Domains, including Rental, Vehicle, Mobility, Marketing, Business Management and Administration, Risk Management, and Human Resources.

This leader will oversee project management professionals supporting these portfolios and will play an important role in strengthening portfolio governance, improving delivery consistency, and advancing project and program management practices. The role is also accountable for building and developing a high-performing team through coaching, career development, performance management, workforce planning, hiring, and recognition.

This is a highly visible and dynamic leadership position that will regularly engage with IT executives, business leaders, portfolio leaders, and stakeholders across the organization.

+ Portfolio and Practice Leadership: Advance PMO capabilities, processes, reporting, and standards to improve portfolio visibility, strategic alignment, delivery consistency, operational efficiency, and value realization.

+ Change Leadership and Resilience: Champion change by helping teams navigate ambiguity, understand context, and adopt new priorities, processes, and ways of working. Anticipate challenges, address risks, and maintain focus on intended outcomes.

+ Executive Communication and Influence: Communicate complex information with clarity, tailor messages to the audience, and influence decisions across organizational boundaries. Facilitate productive discussions and align stakeholders around priorities, tradeoffs, expectations, and outcomes.

+ Governance and Decision Enablement: Lead and facilitate portfolio governance, including CRC, by partnering with executive leaders to prepare, socialize, and align on the status, health, financial performance, risks, and priorities of portfolio investments. Provide actionable portfolio insights, reinforce PMO standards, and enable informed decision-making regarding new and existing investments. Demonstrate executive presence, sound judgment, and discretion when navigating complex or sensitive discussions.

Skills and Abilities

+ Demonstrated experience as a change leader, including guiding teams through organizational and operational change.

+ Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.

+ Strong ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate across organizational boundaries, including with peers, vendors, senior leaders, portfolio managers, and department leaders.

+ Strong understanding of project, program, and portfolio management methodologies, practices, and tools.

+ Strong knowledge of project and portfolio financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and investment oversight.

+ Proven ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional teams and present complex information to senior and executive audiences.

+ Experience developing and delivering executive presentations, training sessions, and demonstrations.

+ Demonstrated ability to establish team objectives, define approaches, delegate effectively, and evaluate results.

+ Proven ability to establish high standards, reinforce accountability, and coach team members toward successful performance.

+ Strong conflict-management and problem-solving skills, including the ability to address complex issues constructively and in a timely manner.
