Employees work in a chicken hatchery production facility where chicken eggs are received, placed on trays, loaded into incubators, transferred from incubators to hatchers, and managed through the hatching process until chicks are ready for customer orders and shipment. They examine feathers and colors of chicks to segregate chicks according to sex, load chicks into the separator, and assist with toe, wing, and beak clipping and vaccinating as part of hatchery operations. Work also includes receiving, loading, and unloading eggs and chicks at the hatchery, farms, and shipping locations; driving vans to farms and shipping locations; filling customer chick orders; and packaging and shipping chicks to customers. Throughout the hatchery and farms, employees assist in maintenance duties involving machinery, fleet, and facility care, dump product waste, and clean and sanitize the facility and equipment so production areas remain ready for continued incubation, hatching, sorting, and outbound shipment activities. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at their previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate. Employer guarantees to offer employment for a minimum of 3/4 of the workdays of the total specified period beginning with the workers first day, free housing provided to workers recruited from beyond the commuting area, transportation and subsistence expenses to the worksite will be provided or paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract or earlier.

Description

Family housing not available. Housing will be clean & meet applicable Fed, State &local housing standards. Workers must maintain neat & clean housing. Housing/utilities are provided at no cost to workers who are unable to return to place of residence the same day. If both male & female workers are hired: separate toilet, bathing and sleeping rooms will be provided.

Meals

The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration), cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities (e.g. adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure) that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will offer free transportation to town for personal services (i.e. banking, groceries) at least once per week for non range workers.

The employer will provide transportation to and from the worksite, as well as transportation to town for shopping and personal errands at least once per week. Employees will not be assigned individual vehicles or permitted to operate employer-owned vehicles for personal use. An authorized driver will be responsible for transporting employees in the employer-owned vehicle. Daily transportation schedules will coincide with the work schedule outlined in this application or as mutually agreed upon based on seasonal demands and workload. Typical transportation times will be 7:00 AM for pickup and 6:00 PM for drop-off, subject to work schedule adjustments. Transportation for personal errands and shopping will be provided every Saturday. If the designated vehicle becomes unavailable, the employer may substitute another vehicle that meets all applicable DOT requirements. Job requires extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements, and a 75 lb lifting requirement. Must possess a valid, standard, non-commercial driver's license (e.g., Class C, D, R, E, F or 3 depending on state). Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Employee must have 3 months of verifiable experience.
