Salary: $57,000.00 - $60,120.00

Our programs work to prevent the spread of harmful insects and plant diseases, registers pesticides, licenses pesticide applicators, assures label accuracy and quality of commercial feeds and seeds, and conducts inspections of commercial produce farms. Our division is embarking on a significant process and technology transformation and is seeking a team member to lead the implementation of these improvements. We are seeking a Division Operations Coordinator for a fixed-term assignment. This role runs from 2026 to 2030 with no permanent conversion implied. Extension is possible based on the workload. A high-performing individual in this role may have opportunities to transition into permanent openings within the organization as they arise.

The salary indicated represents the current regular pay rate for this position. If the individual selected is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., Years of Service), it will be added to total compensation on their paycheck. A pay differential does not raise base pay.

Responsibilities

- Manage the division’s current data management and reporting system, MO Plants. This includes overseeing annual contract renewal, system modifications, semiannual system updates, managing security settings, coordinating bug fixes and enhancements with the system contractor and the Office of Administration’s Information Technology Services Division, and representing the Department of Agriculture on the USA Plants IT Advisory Committee and the USA Plants User Group.
- Serve as the division’s project manager for scoping, procurement, development and implementation of a planned new data management system for the division.
- Support program and/or division process improvement projects. This includes working with subject matter experts to document current processes, leading adoption of new electronic applications, supporting program improvement of office and field operation protocols, etc.
- Assist the Division Director with fiscal note research and preparation, bill tracking and rulemaking as needed.
- Lead and provide project management for strategic initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
