Reading and Transportation Contractor
Summary
Salary - $17.00/hr + .70/mi - Flexible Monday - Friday schedule.
Location - Sikeston, MO/Southeast MO Region
Rehabilitation Services for the Blind helps eligible blind and visually impaired persons achieve personal and employment success. Services are provided with the belief that with the right training and resources each blind or visually impaired person will be able to achieve this goal. **Should have reliable transportation as the use of a personal vehicle is required.**
*The contractor shall provide transportation services as authorized for RSB staff who are blind and visually impaired for work-related activities.
*The contractor shall provide transportation for service animals (dog guides) accompanying RSB staff, as appropriate.
*The contractor shall provide reading services as authorized including but not limited to, reading aloud to the RSB staff member from printed information and/or electronic information that is not accessible to the RSB staff member.
*The contractor must provide reading services in English.
*The contractor shall assist RSB staff members in completing forms or paperwork, as requested by the RSB staff member, including, but not limited to, obtaining signatures from clients.
*The contractor shall provide orientation services as requested by the blind and visually impaired staff upon delivery to the destination. Such orientation services may include, but not limited to, a sighted guide or a verbal description of visual observations necessary to familiarize the staff member with surroundings, such as building entrances, room location and arrangement, and available accommodations.
*The contractor may be required, on occasion, to assist blind and visually impaired RSB staff in the loading, unloading, delivery, and setup of equipment.
