So, what will you be doing as a Forklift/Utility?
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Demonstrate ability to understand job requirements and complete training. • Past experience operating forklifts or ability to learn the job. • Perform clerical duties as required. • Demonstrate safe work practices and use appropriate PPE.
• Pass forklift driving and written tests. • Demonstrate care and consideration for pedestrians, machinery and building structures. • Regular attendance.
• Use computer and scanning system as required for position. • Work effectively with co-workers, supervision and management. • Follow instructions. • Understand the inventory system.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Continuous sitting on forklift. • Move heavy border racks by hand using 50 pounds of force. • Position requires bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling and lifting of materials as required to fulfill job responsibilities. • Be able to read and understand paperwork.
JOB DUTIES:
• Transfer borders, clips, wire and any other raw materials from storage areas to production equipment or staging areas to assure smooth workflow and proper movement of inventory. • Complete all bin transfers accurately as materials change locations. • Haul scrap and trash out of all departments and input the information into computer correctly. • Perform daily safety inspection of forklift, notify supervisor of any safety issues needing corrected. • Remove empty items such as empty wire standards or clip spools from departments. • Bale scrap as needed.
• Inspect and repair merchandise as required. • Assist in preparing for inventory.
• Do raw material conversions such as weight to pieces and lbs. to yards. • Notify Supervision of problems that hinder production or product that does not meet
production specifications. • Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Provide input to supervision or maintenance concerning equipment issues. • Keep work area clean and follow 6S procedures. • Assist shipping/forklift driver as needed.
• Work overtime as needed. • Train new employees. • Participate in all L & P initiatives, ISO 9001:2015, TPM, Continuous Improvement, ECO, etc. • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned. • Charge fork truck batteries at correct intervals according to schedule set by fork truck maintenance. • Step up to help with production need when necessary.
This is an hourly position from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am
Successful candidates must pass a drug screen.
