Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

- Performs, trains, and leads general, in-depth, special and fracture-critical inspection of bridges, including operation of under-bridge inspection and related equipment to visually examine bridges for cracks, fractures, and deterioration.
- Completes, trains, and leads crews in the documentation of deficiencies enters data into the department's Transportation Management System database, element sheets, and inspection forms; photographically documents bridges, codes pictures, and downloads pictures and inspection data.
- Trains bridge inspection crew members on work zone set up, proper flagging techniques, traffic control procedures, personal safety, and equipment operations.
- Conducts and trains crews to perform equipment safety checks; performs preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment including monitoring fluids, greasing and oiling parts, cleaning, and making minor repairs, as needed.
- Assists in reporting crew performance, time/work hours, mileage, requisition of supplies, material needs, inventory, and material usage.
