Role: Welder
In this role, you will:
+ Set-up and operate MIG welding machines, adjust machine and wire feed as required.
+ Normally welding on 16 gauge to 10-gauge mild steel, attaching accessories and fittings or seam welding on parts.
+ Work from layout marks, simple drawings.
+ Use scale, square and power tools.
+ Assemble and tack weld repetitive jobs, finish weld, tack welded assemblies, usually in down and or vertical position.
+ Operate grinder to clean and shape weld.
+ Conduct visual and dimensional check of own work.
+ Support WEG's 5S program in an effort to maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat, organized manner.
+ Notify supervisor of material shortages or other concerns.
+ Work safely in required PPE to manufacture a high-quality component of a transformer.

Requirements
Basic:
+ Prior welding experience.
+ Able to work overtime as needed.
+ Ability to work evening or night shift.
+ Must be able to read, write and comprehend common vocabulary.
+ Must be able to calculate basic math, including fractions, decimals and percentages.
+ Must be able to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, plans, layouts and/or templates.
+ To move forward in the process, candidates will successfully complete: an application, welding knowledge & skill assessments, talent assessment, interview, drug and background screening.
+ Safety Sensitive position: Drug panel includes THC.
+ Resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington MO.
+ Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis; visa sponsorship is not available for these positions.
Preferred :
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Participation in Future Farmers of America (FFA) or 4-H Welding projects / programs.
+ Completion of Welding Trade school and/or Apprenticeship program.
+ Two years of prior manufacturing experience.
