Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day invoice and payment activities for a team based in Clayton, Missouri. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with financial records, and comfortable managing high-volume payable tasks. The person in this role will help maintain timely processing, proper coding, and reliable payment execution while working closely with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

- Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper supporting documentation before processing

- Assign the correct accounting codes to invoices and enter payment details into the payable system with a high level of accuracy

- Manage invoice processing activities from receipt through approval and final posting to ensure deadlines are met

- Prepare and coordinate check runs in accordance with established payment schedules and internal controls

- Resolve invoice discrepancies by communicating with vendors and internal departments to clarify charges, approvals, or missing information

- Maintain organized accounts payable records and documentation to support audits, reporting needs, and payment tracking

- Monitor outstanding items and follow up on pending approvals to help prevent delays in vendor payments Requirements - Experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role

- Working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice entry, and payment processing procedures

- Ability to handle check runs and maintain accuracy when processing large volumes of transactions

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies in invoices or supporting documents

- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal teams

- Ability to stay organized, manage priorities, and meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment
