Works under administrative direction only with considerable latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions.
Mentors, advises, and consults as technical expert to other technical and administrative personnel to drive and implement short and long-term projects.
Prepares comprehensive proposals and cost estimates, evaluates progress, and results, and recommends and directs the implementation of major revisions in approaches and objectives; may set, modify and/or negotiate schedule changes and dates.
Leads, directs, influences, or coordinates the work of a major project, program, product or component for a section or department of functional division with responsibility for project objectives, completion dates, and technical specifications.
Produces substantial impact based on technical advances and innovation and/or improvement in existing technologies. Recommends and directs the implementation of major revisions in approaches and objectives.
Partners with internal and external stakeholders to independently resolve complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues
Stays current with relevant emerging technology and business trends. Uses business knowledge to evaluate and prioritize business opportunities based on economic and technical factors.

You Must Have

Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics
7 or more years of relevant experience in Engineering, Analytical, or related technical activities
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
United States Citizenship
Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
